Santa Monica is pretty anyway - the sea, the laid-back city center, the legendary pier, the Californian feeling overall ... And how could you start a day at a wonderful place better than having a great breakfast? The place to be - either for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner - is the Ivy at the shore right on Ocean Avenue. Fresh orange juice, a glass of champagne, and for example the Spanish omelette accompanied by homemade cones, raspberry jam and a lovely table decoration will make you happy (and don't take the check too serious - money is fading, satisfaction will stay...):
