Moroccan Breakfast and Oriental Interior Love in Williamsburg

Hummus, tabouli, pita bread - if you have a crush on arabic food plus adore oriental interior styles, there's no way not to fall in love with this place: Café Mogador. Established in Manhattan's East Village already more than 30 years ago, the beautiful familiy owned restaurant once opened a second branch in Williamsburg (133 Wythe Avenue) around four years ago, on the other side of the East River (Subway Bedford Avenue, L-Train). I reported about it shortly after the opening in 2012, but it's always worth to freshen up our memories of something really good...

The egg variations Middle Eastern style are highly recommended - fried, and served with hummus, tabouli, pita, arabic salad - plus an organic fair trade coffee and a fresh orange juice. Beside the delicious food you will for sure enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, the open kitchen and watch all the hipsters sitting in the winter garden and enjoying life.

The interior is dominated by colorful tiles showing original north african and arabic patterns, traditionally decorated pillows and wall-mounted vintage plates. A beautiful thing, indeed. Thanks, Silke von Brockhausen, for once introducing this to me!
