Voor Amsterdam van harte.

Relaxed, romantic, remarkable: Amsterdam is one of Europe's most attractive cities in terms of so many different things such as architecture, fashion, lifestyle, history, art and nightlife. It was always ahead of its time, especially when it comes to the early days of trading in the mid age. Lively and lovely and the perfect place to be with either friends, lovers or just by yourself.  A brief proposal what to see and do... What is always nice to start with is a walk along the different canals ("Grachten") who are concentric to the old city centre. The nicest ones are Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Leidsegracht. And in between these you'll find the nine streets (De 9 Straatjes) with tons of little boutiques, cafés, some galleries, beautiful houses and little boats waiting to be taken for a drive...

Two stops to be made at least for little rests during the walk along the water are these:

Bar Moustache in Utrechtsestraat 141 is a beautiful two-story café with vintage wooden furniture, fresh flowers and homemade snacks served on pretty porcelain by my employer Villeroy & Boch and organic lemonade matching the color of your food. A place for casual gourmets:

La Scala

Dinner you might consider having at the Black and Blue Restaurant, Leliegracht 46. The steaks are excellent, so are the homemade fries, subtle salads and the tasteful interior. And if you have a birthday boy or girl with you, be sure they'll do something "by heart":

Heart, Love
