A travel to Ubud is a Must. Ubud is a Hindu City 50 km north of the capital Denpasar, is a green oasis on the island with tea plantations, a monkey forest, many cafés with tropical gardens such as Gedong Sisi Warung, little markets and temples to explore:

And if you spend more than a few days on Bali, use one day to escape to Lembongan Island (Nusa Lembongan). A speed ferry boat trip from Sanur on the East Coast e.g. is around 1 - 1,5 h and will take you to beautiful beaches and authentic villages:
