Art and Technology. An exhibition at Mudam Luxembourg.

This current exhibition reunites two disciplines that appear quite different at first sight. After a visit of  "Eppur si Muove", a collaboration between Mudam and Musée des arts et métiers cnam, Paris, this thought will be corrected. Art respectively Design and Technology match quite well. The work of around 80 artists and thinkers are displayed and explained until 17 January 2016 at the Museum of Modern Art in Luxembourg (3, Parc Dräi Eechelen). Here's a quick foretaste:

One of the most renowned artists who is present with one of his works is Ólafur Elíasson. His "True Compass" is hanging from the ceiling, hold by a thin steel wire; it's a piece of wood, spiked with massive golden nails that aligns with the North-South magnetic axis - always directed northwards.

Cyber-artist Stelarc once planned to ease our lives by adding a third hand. In collaboration with a Japanese laboratory he developed one in the 1980ies, but it obviously never became reality, however, his experiments address numerous issues concerning the idea of progress in the meaning of evolution.

Damián Ortega unveils the "Miracolo Italiano" and fractionalizes a Vespa PX 150. Vintage Design in its anatomical beauty.

Photographies by Thomas Struth, an Installation by Véronique Journard and Nam June Paik's Magnet TV / Life Ring Which Manipulates the Face of President Richard Nixon are further examples underlining the shared sphere of art and technology. An interesting thing!
