Ibiza. A travel report. Part I: Beach love.

Ibiza is a legendary island since many decades already and much more than just a party spot in the Mediterranean Sea. Although it seems to become more and more expensive and also more commercial, you still find some hideaways beyond the regular tourism. Some inspiration for individual travelers:

Cala Mastella and the flanking restaurant El Bigote where you can have one of the most delicious and unpretentious fish lunches with one dish for everybody, twice a day - at noon & at 2 p.m. (with reservation only):

Pretty Cala Boix with a quite nice, but expensive restaurant on the hill:

The small island Formentera is only a 30 minutes ferry trip away from Eivissa and makes you feel like being in the Caribbean Sea. Fine sandy beaches and crystal clear water in lovely shades of blue accompanied by the most laid-back flair. Nice for a little lunch or a sun downer: the legendary bare food bar & restaurant El Tiburon:

New hot place for a sun downer (and much less commercial than the established and way too crowded Café del Mar): Cap des Falco. The restaurant offers a well selected range of mediterranean fish, meat and vegetable dishes served on the tableware series La Scala by my employer Villeroy & Boch. The interior is lovely light and maritim and might remind you of the Hampton’s:

Beautiful, indeed.
